The bathroom is the single best room in an entire house

The bathroom is the single best room in an entire house. Here is why.

Some may say that the kitchen is the heart of a home but the bathroom… the bathroom may be the single most important room of a home. Not the bedroom, not the family room, not the pool or the man-cave you’ve been dreaming about. And here are the reasons why:

It is a magical place where you do a lot of thinking. A lot of us have experienced being graced by a random idea during our shower. Maybe it was a smarter answer for an argument you just had, or maybe the resolution to a conundrum you’ve been having. Maybe is the name of the thing you forgot about on Tuesday. Regardless, it’s a magical place where ideas are born.

It’s the beginning and the end. Some of us have made the habit of browsing through our social media first thing in the morning and before going to bed. But, when we’re actually going to start our day we go to the bathroom. And when we are about to end it, we go to the bathroom. The beginning and the end of our daily routine cemented around this one room! It is said that the average person will spend 1.5 years of their life in the bathroom!

It says a lot about you as a person. Sure, your entire home is decorated according to who you are as a person. If you live with someone else, it’s probably a collection of different tastes and personality traits. But the bathroom is where you simply cannot hide your natural tendencies, and the one room you will heavily judged on those tendencies. And it is also the place where you are free to be more yourself, after all, no one judges you while you are in there.

It’s a safe haven. If you ever want to take a moment to be alone or have a breakdown. This is the place to go. Hardly anyone will bother someone who enters a bathroom and locks the door. It is universally known as the most private of places. For those with living with their significant other (or kids) this can be a sacred few moments of peace.

You can’t just not use it. You can go a few weeks without using the kitchen with options like eating out, delivery, or take out. But you simply cannot go without using the bathroom, which means it needs to be functional and appealing – a difficult balance!
